The Russian Government takes more control over the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. It was announced that Olga Gorogetsu, Deputy Prime Minister since May 2012, has been appointed chairman of the organizing committee, along with Valery Gergiev, himself a Putin-man. At the same time, the chairpersons of each department were announced, representing a truly international panel.
Piano division: Dennis Matsuev (Russian pianist, Putin confidant)
Violin division: Martin Engström（Founder and General director of the Verbier Music Festival）
Cello division: Clive Gillinson（Cellist, Art director of Carnegie Hall）
Vocal division：Sarah Billinghurst (Former Deputy General manager of the Metropolitan Opera）
Woodwind division: Denis Bouriakov (Los Angeles Philharmonic Principal Flute player）
Brass division: Ian Bousfield（Former Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra Principal Trombone player）
