British orchestra The Hallé has announced the launch of an international conductors competition. The first edition is scheduled to take place in February 2020. The competition will recognise the talents of one emerging conductor with a two-year engagement as Assistant Conductor for the Hallé.
Applications from around the world are invited from Wednesday 1st May 2019 until Monday 1st July 2019, and a short list of semi-finalists will be announced in September 2019.
