In 2013/14, the British Hilliard Ensemble is celebrating its 40th anniversary season. At the end of the year 2014 the vocal quartet – comprising countertenor David James, tenor Rogers Covey-Crump, baritone Gordon Jones and tenor Steven Harrold – will give its last concert in London. Until this final performance, the group will extensively tour in Europe. America and Australia.
In November, the German record label ECM will launch the Hilliard’s 40th anniversary season with the new album ‘Il Cor Tristo’, which includes a premiere by Roger Marsh alongside madrigals by 16th-century composers Bernardo Pisano and Jacques Arcadelt.
