After long negotiations, conductor Theodore Currentzis finally agreed to sign his new contract as Artistic director of the Perm Opera and Ballet Theatre for another five years. He did so after the local government committed itself for the complete renovation of the opera house. In addition, the government is obliged to finance the Perm Opera and Ballet Theatre during Currentzis’ contract with the same amount of public funding like in 2015, adjusted for inflation.
