Thomas Dausgaard’s contract as Chief Conductor of the BBC Scottish Symphony will be extended for a further three years, through to the 2021/22 season, the orchestra announced. after his current contract ends in September 2019The 54-year-old Danish conductor is in this position since 2016.
He was recently appointed Music Director of the Seattle Symphony Orchestra from 2019/20. He also holds positions as Chief Conductor of the Swedish Chamber Orchestra (becoming its Conductor Laureate from 2019), and Honorary Conductor of both the Danish National Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestra della Toscana.
