Principal Guest Conductor since 2014, Danish conductor Thomas Dausgaard, 54, will begin a four-year contract as Seattle Symphony Music Director in September 2019.Dausgaard’s close relationship with the Seattle Symphony began in 2003 with performances of Nielsen’s Fifth Symphony, giving Seattle audiences a first glimpse of his creativity and dynamism.
His most recent release on Seattle Symphony Media, a live recording of Nielsen’s Symphonies No. 3 and 4 will be available on November 10.
Thomas Dausgaard is also Chief Conductor of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and Chief Conductor of the Swedish Chamber Orchestra.
