Thomas Sanderling
The Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra announced the appointment of German conductor Thomas Sanderling, 75, as its next chief conductor and music director, effective August 2017. The son of Kurt Sanderling was Principal Conductor at the Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin, Amsterdam Philharmonisch Orkest, National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia and the Osaka Symphony Orchestra. Sanderling, who was born in Novosibirsk, has already served as principal guest conductor of the local Philharmonic.
