Three French orchestras, Orchestre de Picardie, Orchestre National d’Île-de-France and Orchestre National de Lille have signed a partnership for the common employment of an assistant conductor. For the first season, 2017-18, they hired the French conductor Léo Margue to be their assistant conductor. He will be involved in the preparation of concerts, he will conduct rehearsals and education concerts.
For the next two seasons a competition will take place to find two other young conductors.
Léo Margue who plays the saxophone and the piano, studied conducting with Philippe Cambreling. In 2015 he founded his own ensemble, Liken.
