The Artistic Director of the new hall La Seine Musicale in western Paris, Jean-Luc Choplin, is likely to quit his position only six months after the hall’s inauguration, France Musique reports.
According to the broadcaster’s information, the public-private partnership does not function too smoothly, and after the cancelation of several concerts, the question is whether a viable economic model can be achieved. France Musique also learned that Choplin, who was a successful manager of the Paris Châtelet, has some problems to coordinate his work with the other artistic director of La Seine Musicale, Laurence Equilbey. The evolution is certainly interesting to watch.
