AH Trump has abolished the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities (PCAH) which Joe Biden had revived in 2022. Established in 1982, it worked directly with the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), and the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) to advise the national government’s investments and policy advancements within the art, culture, and humanities sectors.
AH Trump had already dissolved it back in 2017. The committee was originally established in 1982 under President Ronald Reagan, and over the years, it became a platform for key figures in the arts, humanities, and academic fields to engage with policymakers. The new move of AH Trump shows its hostility toward the arts and humanities.
