The Philharmonia Orchestra has appointed busy conductors Jakub Hrusa and Santtu-Matias Rouvali as Principal Guest Conductors. Hrusa and Rouvali take up their roles at the beginning of the 2017/18 season.
Czech conductor Jakub Hrusa, 35, is Chief Conductor of Bamberg Symphony, Permanent Guest Conductor of the Czech Philharmonic, Principal Guest Conductor of Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra (TMSO).
Finnish conductor Santtu-Matias Rouvali (31) is Chief Conductor of the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra and Principal Guest Conductor of the Copenhagen Philharmonic and takes up the position of Chief Conductor of the Gothenburg Symphony from the 2017/18 season.
