Ukrainian Dmytro Choni, 25, has been announced as the winner of the 19th Paloma O’Shea Santander International Piano Competition. Yutong Sun (China) won Second Prize and Silver Medal, Aleksandr Kliuchko (Russia), Third Prize and Bronze Medal. Federico Nicoletta (Italy), Lucas Thomazinho (Brazil) and Juan Carlos Fernández-Nieto (Spain), were awarded with the Finalist Prize.
Born in 1993, Dmytro Choni already gained himself an international reputation as a concert pianist. He is the laureate of prestigious competitions, such as Ferruccio Busoni Piano Competition (Italy, 2017), San Marino International Piano Competition (San Marino, 2016), Los Angeles International Piano Competition (USA, 2018), and many others. The young pianist is a scholarship holder from the International Academy of Music in Liechtenstein.
