Auf ihrem Solo-Debütalbum Indomita zollt die Sopranistin Eleonora Buratto « den unbezwingbaren Heldinnen der italienischen Oper des 19. Jahrhunderts Tribut ».
Buratto ist eine der besten italienischen Sopranistinnen unserer Zeit. Ihre Stimme ist sehr schön – voll, rund, lyrisch, mit Kraft und Energie. Sie hat die süße Wärme oder auch die nötige (aber nie gleißende) Kälte, je nachdem was für ihre Rollen gebraucht wird. Der Gesang bleibt dabei immer sehr ausdrucksvoll, sorgfältig geführt, sie kann die an sich sehr gesunde Stimme auch mit darstellerischen Mitteln fragiler werden lassen, wenn das die Rolle verlangt.
Die Begleitung durch das Orchester und den Chor sowie die Leistungen der anderen Sänger sind tadellos. Die Aufnahme ist insgesamt etwas Trocken, die Stimme Burattos sticht aber klar hervor.
Mithin ist dies ein sehr attraktives Recital mit längeren Auszügen aus fünf Opern.
On her debut solo album Indomita, soprano Eleonora Buratto pays tribute to « the indomitable heroines of 19th-century Italian opera ».
Buratto is one of the best Italian sopranos today. Her voice is very beautiful – full, round, lyrical, with power and energy. She has the sweet warmth or the necessary (but never glistening) coldness, depending on what is required for her roles. Her singing is always very expressive, carefully controlled, and she can make her voice, which is very healthy, more fragile with dramatic means if the role demands it.
The orchestral and choral accompaniment, as well as the performances of the other singers, are impeccable. The recording is somewhat dry overall, but Buratto’s voice stands out clearly.
All in all, this is a very attractive recital with longer excerpts from five operas.
