American cellist Zlatomir Fung, 17, won the cello award of the 2016 George Enescu International Competition. In the competition’s final he played Enescu’s Sinfonia Concertante op. 8 accompanied by the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra.
Fung is currently studying at New England Conservatory Preparatory School and in 2010 he founded The Mix Quartet. He has also won several other international prizes.
Russian Anastasia Kobekina finished the competition on second place and Mon Puo Lee from Spain was third.
