25-year-old Venezuelan clarinettist Karen Palacios was arrested last June 1 by officials of the General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence (DGCIM). She was a member of El Sistema and later of the National Philharmonic, but her contract was    cancelled because she signed in favour of the presidential referendum in 2017. Having been arrested, she is accused of inciting hatred and expressing a position against the government of Nicolas Maduro via social media.
