Man braucht nicht lange zuzuhören, und schon wird klar, dass die Musik, die auf dieser CD erklingt, verdorben ist, übermäßig akzentuiert, mit störender Rhythmik und unausgegorenem Konzept ohne Werkübersicht, immer nur auf das Unmittelbare aus, d.h. auf die unmittelbare Effekthascherei. Vivaldi wird seiner Essenz beraubt und populistisch entstellt.

Wenn dann noch zwischen den Quattro Stagioni und den Häppchen aus dem Estro Armonico Bum-Bum-Songs erklingen, die Camille und Julie Berthollet selber ‘komponiert’ haben und mit ihren Stimmchen verunzieren, dann ist wohl klar, welch schäbiges Produkt damit angeboten wird. Vivaldi wird hier missbraucht.

You don’t need to listen for long and it becomes clear that the music on this CD is rotten. Overly accentuated, with disturbing rhythms and a half-baked concept without any architectural view of the works, always aiming for the immediate, i.e. for immediate effect. Vivaldi is robbed of its essence and distorted in an awful populist manner.
Between the Quattro Stagioni and the appetizers from the Estro Armonico, the listener has to endure some bum-bum songs that Camille and Julie Berthollet have ‘composed’ themselves and present with their tiny, bleach voices. It becomes evident then, what a shabby product they are offering. Vivaldi is clearly being abused!
