After having brought the Foundation of Arena di Verona into liquidation, the Municipality of Verona will organize the Summer Opera Festival 2016. Later a new Foundation could be set up. Meanwhile the unions are largely divided in their appreciation of the action taken by the city’s mayor. While those having voted against the proposed labor contract accuse the mayor to be mad, those – and it was nearly half of them – having been in favor of the contract, accuse the opponents of having ruined everything. It’s Italy in all its splendor!
