Victorien Vanoosten
French conductor Victorien Vanoosten, 40, is appointed Music Director of the Opéra de Toulon. To mark his new position, he will conduct Thaïs in concert on January 23 and 25 at the Palais des Congrès Neptune in Toulon.
Victorien Vanoosten has been Music Director of the Ensemble Symphonique de Neuchâtel in Switzerland since 2019, a position he extended for five more seasons in 2022. The former assistant to Daniel Barenboim at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin is also chief conductor of DEMOS, a social music project initiated by the Philharmonie de Paris and modeled on El Sistema in Venezuela.
