Vincent Larderet hat für diese Gesamtaufnahme der Solo-Klavierwerke von Maurice Ravel mit Vlado Perlemuters Notenausgabe gearbeitet, die er nach seiner Zusammenarbeit mit Ravel zwischen 1927 und 1929 mit persönlichen Anmerkungen versehen hatte: « Diese Partituren waren für mich von unschätzbarem Wert und haben mir Einblicke über einige interpretatorische Geheimnisse gewährt ».
Vincent Larderets Interpretationen sind sehr stimmungsvoll, fein nuanciert von bestechender Klarheit und großem Detailreichtum. Sein warmer und nirgendwo scharfer Klavierklang kommt Ravels Musik sehr entgehen. Dabei fehlt es nirgends an Klarheit und Konturen.
In den Valses Nobles et sentimentales fallen eine ganz besondere Rhythmik und Akzentuierung auf, die die Musik angenehm beleben.
Am Ende, das muss ich zugeben, habe ich vieles genossen, vieles bewundert, aber so richtig fesselnd fand ich nichts. Irgendwo fehlt es diesem Album an Spontaneität und mitreißender Inspiration.
For this complete recording of Maurice Ravel’s solo piano works, Vincent Larderet worked with Vlado Perlemuter’s edition of the scores.

Vincent Larderet’s interpretations are very atmospheric, finely nuanced, with great clarity and richness of detail. His warm and never sharp piano sound is very much at home in Ravel’s music. There is never a lack of clarity and contour.
In the Valses Nobles et sentimentales, a very special rhythm and accentuation stand out, pleasantly enlivening the music.
In the end, I have to admit that I enjoyed a lot, admired a lot, but I didn’t find anything really captivating. Somehow this album lacks spontaneity and rousing inspiration.
