The 18-year-old Ukrainian violinist Bohdan Luts was awarded First Grand Prize at the Long-Thibaud Competition in Paris. He received also the Audience Prize, the Press Jury Prize and the Prize of the French Republican Guard Orchestra.
Second prize went to Dayoon You (22, South Korea) and third prize was won by Koshiro Takeuchi (18, Japan).
In 2022 Bohdan Luts has won the first prize at the Alberto Lysy Competition, and joint first prize at the Carl Nielsen International Violin Competition. He studied in Lviv, Kyiv and at the International Menuhin Music Academy. His teachers have included Oleg Kaskiv, Renaud Capuçon, Olga Korinets, Yaroslava Kataryna and Maria Futorska, and he has participated in masterclasses with violinists including Pinchas Zukerman and Gábor Takács-Nagy.
This year’s jury comprised Sarah Nemtanu (France), Silvia Marcovici (Romania), Akiko Suwanai (Japan), Jean-Jacques Kantorow (France), Marc Laforêt (France), Sergey Khachatryan (Armenia), Boris Kuschnir (Austria) and Jean-Claude Casadesus (France).
