Warme Farben, sehr viel Transparenz und ein entsprechend reiches, im Inneren belebtes Klangbild: das ist es, was einem auf Anhieb bei dieser Aufnahme der 5. Symphonie von Piotr Tchaikovsky auffällt. Und so entwickelt sich diese Einspielung von Noseda vor allem als klanglich interessante und vom London Symphony gut gespielte Interpretation, die das Fatum-Thema nicht allzu stark ausreizt und dennoch im Feld der guten Einspielungen der Fünften anzusiedeln ist.
Rimsky-Korsakovs Kitesh-Suite ist in einer farbigen und sehr vitalen, zugleich angenehm atmosphärischen Interpretation zu hören.
Warm colors, a great deal of transparency and a correspondingly rich, internally animated sound: that is what strikes one right away about this recording of Piotr Tchaikovsky’s 5th Symphony. And so this recording by Noseda develops above all as a tonally interesting interpretation, well played by the London Symphony, which does not exhaust the Fatum theme too much and can nevertheless be placed in the field of good recordings of the Fifth.
Noseda’s reading of Rimsky-Korsakov’s Kitesh Suite is colorful, very vital and pleasantly atmospheric.
