Der argentinische Tango, diese besondere Mixtur aus ausgelassener Lebensfreude und intimer Melancholie, hat eine nicht geringe Fangemeinschaft. Nicht nur diese Fangemeinschaft wird bei dieser CD-Produktion auf ihrer Kosten kommen.

Pascal Contet trifft auf seinem Akkordeon genau den richtigen Ton zwischen tänzerischer Verspieltheit und lyrischer Intimität. Die Übergänge sind fließend. Unbemerkt zieht uns der Akkordeonist immer wieder aus einem Anflug von Trauer hoch in freudvolle, unbesorgte Momente.

Pascal Contet macht dies in stimmiger Komplizenschaft mit dem Orchestre royal de chambre de Wallonie, das  seine strengen klassischen Fesseln ablegt und sich voll auf diese einzigartige südamerikanische Poetik einlässt. Ein perfekter Start ins Gedenkjahr zum 100. Geburtstag von Astor Piazzolla!

Pascal Contet hits exactly the right tone on his accordion between dance-like playfulness and lyrical intimacy. The transitions are fluid between sadness and joyful, carefree moments.
