CDs mit Weihnachtsmusik stehen nicht im Fokus unserer Redaktion. Und so wollten wir von Anfang an aus den uns zugeschickten Weihnachts-CDs nur eine besprechen. Die Wahl fiel auf eine ganz besonders schöne Produktion von 2L.

In der Lademoen Kirche im norwegischen Trondheim hat das Vokalensemble Cantus das Programm Fryd (Freude) aufgenommen, eine doppelte Hommage an die norwegische Mutterfigur, die jedes Jahr mit einer Vielfalt von Vorbereitungen Weihnachten präsentiert, und an die christliche Mutterfigur Maria.

Zusammen mit der Folksängerin Unni Boksasp hat Cantus bekannte und weniger bekannte Weihnachtslieder aus der Tradition der mittelnorwegischen Volksmusik aufgenommen und auch zeitgenössische Musik miteinbezogen. So kam ein wunderbares Programm zustande, das wohl mit einem Wort zu resümieren ist: lichtvoll. Und diese Leuchtkraft der Musik erfasst und erfüllt den Hörer mit Freude, Zufriedenheit und Ruhe.

Die Aufnahme von Morton Lindberg ist wunderbar ausbalanciert und transparent, sie hat Relief und Konturen und zieht den Hörer der Surround-Aufnahme in ein Klangerlebnis der besonderen Art.

CDs with Christmas music are not the focus of our editorial staff. And so we decided to review only one of all the Christmas CDs we received this year. The choice fell on a particularly beautiful production of 2L.
In the Lademoen church in Trondheim, Norway, the vocal ensemble Cantus recorded the program Fryd (Joy), a double homage to the Norwegian mother figure, who presents Christmas every year after a lot of preparations, and to the Christian mother figure Mary.
Together with folk singer Unni Boksasp, Cantus has recorded well-known Christmas songs as well as lesser-known from the tradition of Central Norwegian folk music, plus some contemporary music. The result is a wonderful programme that can be summed up in one word: lightful. And the music’s luminosity captures and fills the listener with joy, contentment and peace.
Morton Lindberg’s recording is wonderfully balanced and transparent, it has relief and contours and draws the listener of the surround recording into an exceptional sound experience.
