According to Les Echos, the French independent label Naïve could soon be taken over by a major actor of the recording industry. Naïve is a label dedicated to classical music, jazz and pop, with artists like Anne Gastinel, Rinaldo Alessandrini, Accentus, Sonia Wieder-Atherton, Nikolai Lugansky, Sandrine Piau, and Fazil Say.
The newspaper said, its president and founder Patrick Zelnik is in talks « with several major record industry groups and with investment funds » and his purpose is to care for the label’s independence, even within a new structure.
If the information will be confirmed, France might lose another record label, after Harmonia Mundi which was bought by the Belgian Pias in June.
