Das Hauptthema der CD Memories der französischen Harfenistin Claire Augier de Lajallet ist die Natur, « und Wasser und Wüste sind die beiden Extreme », sagt die Solistin, « von den kanadischen Flüssen zu den Eisbergen der Arktis, über den Nahen Osten und die Huldigung des Maqamat, eines traditionellen Musikinstruments, bis hin zur Türkei mit der Erinnerung an die Hethiter. »
Mehrere Stücke stammen von zeitgenössischen Komponisten, andere von solchen, die im 20. Jahrhundert lebten. Musik, die man der Avantgarde zurechnen würde, gibt es dabei keine. Alle Werke sind melodisch. Dem Thema entsprechend gibt es im Programm viel Nostalgie, viel Nachdenklichkeit, mit positiven und negativen Gefühlen, die die Harfenistin feinfühlig ausdrückt. Die CD wird beschert dem Zuhörer somit eine durchdringende Atmosphäre von Vertrauen, Frieden und Erfüllung. Gerade in unserer Zeit ist dies eine willkommenen Bereicherung.
The main theme of French harpist Claire Augier de Lajallet’s CD Memories is nature, « and water and desert are the two extremes, » says the soloist, « from Canadian rivers to Arctic icebergs, through the Middle East and homage to the maqamat, a traditional musical instrument, to Turkey with memories of the Hittites. »
Several pieces are by contemporary composers, others by those who lived in the 20th century. There is no music that would be considered avant-garde. All the works are melodic. In accordance with the theme, there is a lot of nostalgia in the program, a lot of thoughtfulness, with positive and negative feelings, which the harpist expresses sensitively. The CD thus provides the listener with a pervasive atmosphere of trust, peace and fulfillment. Especially in our time this is a welcome enrichment.
