Nicht jede Filmmusik gibt Musik her für eine symphonische Suite mit obligater Geige. Aus Themen von ‘Once Upon A Time’, ‘Moses, ‘Marco Polo’, ‘The Untouchabels’ u.a. wird ein ungenießbares Zuckerwasser, ein kitschiger Musikschwulst, nicht attraktiver als das, was Morricone und Yo-Yo Ma vor Jahren mit dem Cello als Soloinstrument produzierten. Wer Morricones Filmmelodien hören möchte, soll zu den originalen Soundtracks greifen. Das klingt sooooo viiiieeel besser.
Not every film score yields music for a symphonic suite with obbligato violin. Themes from ‘Once Upon A Time’, ‘Moses’, ‘Marco Polo’, ‘The Untouchabels’ and others are turned into a kitschy music, no more attractive than what Morricone and Yo-Yo Ma produced years ago with the cello as solo instrument. If you want to hear Morricone’s movie tunes, reach for the original soundtracks. That sounds sooooo much better.
