Michala Petri
Danish Recorder player Michala Petri is very active in recording new CDs. A new Corelli CD with Michala Petri and Mahan Asfahani has been announced for a worldwide release by the label Our Recordings in January 2015. The following release will be with Michala and Mahan again, playing new Danish and English music by Van Hombre, Axel Borup-Jørgensen, Henning Christiansen, Benjamin Britten, Gordon Jacob, Malcolm Arnold and the young composer Daniel Kidane. The recording is done, and the release will be in connection to a Duo concert in Wigmore Hall in London February 17th 2015.
The recording of Danish Recorder Concertos, with music by Thomas Koppel, Sunleif Rasmussen and Pelle Gudmundsen-Holmgreen, the 3rd release in Our Recordings series of Recorder Concertos from different countries is also recorded, with a release scheduled to be May 2015.
And this week she will record ‘Hommage á Axel Borup-Jørgensen’ with 2 pieces by the composer, and 5 world premieres especially written for this project: 4 new recorder concertos by Bent Sørensen, Thomas Clausen, Mogens Christensen and Sunleif Rasmussen, and a piece for 13 strings by Pelle Gudmundsen-Holmgreen. The orchestra is Lapland Chamber Orchestra conducted by Clemens Schuldt. Release is scheduled to be May 2015.
